Copy Table From Word, Paste as RTF Table

Unsure if this is possible with the default DXL functions in Doors 9.6.

I have a Word file ( .docx ) where I created a table. When I manually copy this table and paste it in the "Object Text" attribute it gets pasted as a rtf table.  Is there a way to automate paste this table as a RTF table in Doors when this table is on the system clipboard?

I came across the richClip function but using that function will paste the rtf syntax of the table in the Doors object.

Using RTF table in object text may lead you to heartburn when you try to export to ms office products.

This form of table might be consider by some not to be a good practice.

I welcome this heartburn and well aware of them.

Regarding my problem, I know how to do this with a Layout DXL column but using that is a no no here for my problem.

I figured out a solution.

Here is the basic algo.

1) Copy the Word table on the system clipboard
2) Use the richClip() function to paste the clipboard's contents. This will result in rtf representation in the Object Text attribute
3) Using another text attribute, copy the Object Text attribute as rich text and display as rich text in the other attribute. This will render the rtf table
4) Copy the render rtf table from this other attribute back to the Object Text attribute
